About

Janell Barnes is a Birth Worker and Healer dedicated to empowering Black girls and women as well as improving their overall health and wellness. She is also a Trauma-Informed Doula and Health and Wellness Coach at Sunflowers in Bloom Health and Wellness Services. She travels nationally and internationally to provide support to Black women who do not have access to Doula Support in their area.

Janell is the Director and President of Queens Rising an organization dedicated to supporting Black and Brown girls and women who are survivors of sexual abuse and sex trafficking. She is a Reiki healer and a current student of herbal healing with a focus on feminine health. In addition to those many things, she is a trained Restorative Justice Circle Keeper, providing healing spaces for the Black community.

Janell realizes how important it is to make holistic health, wellness, and healing accessible ESPECIALLY for Black girls and women. It is a very important part of feminine care and essential to continuing a healthy legacy of Black people. Janell is dedicated to making sure that not only Black girls and women get the healing that they deserve, but that all Black people get healing and wellness because it is their RIGHT after the many years of oppression endured by them and their ancestors.
